A Little Bit of This and That

These last few days I have felt totally unproductive.  The to-do list is a mile long but I just haven't been able to check much off the list.  At the end of every day, I wonder to myself, "Why in the world am I so tired?"  Yeah, I know I'm pregnant, but I guess something inside of me thinks I can keep going on like I usually do.  I just keep trying to remind myself that I am not Wonderwoman, and things will get done when they get done.  I think at times I can be my own worst enemy.

The highlight of my week was yesterday when I had my routine check-up with my OB.  It went really well and I was in and out of the office pretty quickly.  The best part of my visit was getting to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time.  I was so excited and it was something I was looking forward to the whole day!  When my Hubby got home from work,  he was like, "Well, how did things go?  Did you get to hear the heartbeat?  Did it sound fast?"  He was cracking me up because I know where he was going with all of the questions.  I told him the heartbeat was fast and strong.  He had a big smile on his face and I knew what that meant.  Even though he's said that he will be totally fine if this ends up being another girl, I know deep down inside, he will be ecstatic if we end up having a boy!  And speaking of genders, I was able to schedule the next ultrasound apppointment while I was there yesterday.  I was hoping we'd be doing that before Thanksgiving, but the ultrasound won't happen until the first week of December.  Oh well...only four more weeks to go until we find out if it's a boy or a girl!

In other news, I've been so excited to see how this sweet girl has been doing lately.

Just in the last week, she's talking so much all of a sudden.  What's so funny is that up until recently, she really hasn't said a whole lot.  My Hubby was starting to get worried, but I reminded him that every child goes at their own pace.  Audrey didn't even start walking until she was 15 months, so now at almost 20 months, she's decided that she's finally ready to start using some words.  It's been so fun to hear her little voice. :)

As for my big girl, she continues to be a tough student.  We've been practicing her name and learning the other letters of the alphabet, but she is not all that excited about being mommy's student.  I'm just trying to be patient with her and trying to make things as fun as I can!

Well, I'd better get things going for the day.  I've signed Alyssa back up for Storytime at our local library, and today is the first day!

P.S.  Thanks for all the encouragement and kindness about my weight lately.  I know I talk about it a lot but it is something that I think about a lot.  Apparently I must be doing something right, because at my appointment yesterday, I found out that I've only gained two pounds so far this pregnancy.  Woo hoo!

Congrats on the heartbeat! That's the most amazing sound! How fast is fast? :)

My oldest didn't talk until late & at 2 1/2 is just now really copying what you say & making sentences. Now Little T though...he talks up a storm. So weird, but each child is different!

That's awesome about the 2 pounds. Good for you!

Can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl!

Veronica ... although I am not pregnant I do believe I should be Wonder Woman on a daily basis and just yesterday I posted about how lazy I have been. Just hang in there. Also, congrats on hearing the baby's heartbeat. I remember hearing my son's like it was yesterday and that was almost 7 years ago. I am so excited for you and your family. I love hearing your heart in all your posts. Thank you for being you!

This is so much fun following along with the progress of this pregnancy Veronica. I am happy that you got to hear the heartbeat, and I remember how exciting that is.

We will all be anxiously waiting to find out if it will be a boy or a girl, so post as soon as you know the results from the sonogram ok?

Gosh I feel like another one of my girls is having a baby. ((smile))

Well, in a way you are one of my adopted kids, so it is no wonder I am so excited and happy for you.

Get as much rest as you can when you feel tired...even if it means you have to let something go for awhile.

Take care sweetie!

My Model just started talking in full blown sentences like overnight when she turned 18 months. Nothing before that...it is so funny how they just decide to speak. She is precious. congrats on only gaining 2 pounds so far. Woo hoo.

I'm so glad you were able to hear the heartbeat! That's so exciting! Ben and I were able to hear Evan's heartbeat at only 5.5 weeks! Can you believe it? It was so awesome.

I know what you mean about the growing list of things to do. This morning I was awoken to Ben trying to find clean underwear. He had none because I hadn't done the laundry in forever. Poor guy had to wear dirty undies...I felt really bad.

Hope you get the things done that you need to soon!

Oh, how exciting! I'm so glad everything is progressing well. Babies are soooo amazing. <3 :)

How fun that Audrey has started talking! Harrison sang before he talked--actually, I think singing helped him learn to talk. He knows every song on High School Musical. lol!

Have a lovely day Veronica!

Veronica, I really do know exactly how you feel!! The wonder woman thing plagued me, too. I just feel so lazy some days and I have to stop myself from getting too frustrated with my lack of energy. The first five months were definitely the hardest. I was just sooooo tired (that's why I was so absent even from blogging). But I'm starting to get a little bit more energy back, so just take it easy and know your body is adjusting to A LOT right now (of course you already know it--but sometimes we have to remind ourselves of these things!!)
Love ya!
