More Family Fun

So I've been crocheting my heart away tonight and finally decided to take a break. I've been trying to post about this fun little family outing we had last weekend and realized if I don't get this done tonight, I might never find time to post about it next week. :)

On Sunday, the day after Fourth of July, we decided to take a little drive south to a little place called Nojoqui Falls Park.

We've been there several times but I think the last time we were there was when Alyssa was the age Audrey is now. I didn't realize it had been that long. Anyhow, it's such a nice park and what's neat about it is that you can take a really cool path to get the actual "falls" part of the park. I am normally not a "nature girl," (my Hubby wishes I was) but when he suggested us going there that day, I decided not to say no and just go for it. It was nice to get out and do something different and it turned out to be a fun way to end off our awesome holiday weekend.

Here are a few of the pictures I took. Here's my sweet girl smiling for Mommy.

When we got to the part where you can hike up to the falls area, we had to fold up the stroller and walk up a path. This is the view of the path as I looked back to where we had come from...

This path continued for a while until we got to this beautiful area where the falls are located. The amount of water that comes down really varies during the different seasons. There have actually been times that we've been there when there wasn't any water flowing. This particular time there was not a lot of water. I tried to get a picture of the view of the falls, but it was a little tough to do. Besides that, there were some other people down there and I didn't want them to think I was trying to take their picture too. ;)

Here's another shot as you're looking up.

I had my Hubby take this picture of me and the girls. At least I got one out of two girls smiling!

I took a few other pictures of the girls and then there was a sweet gal who was also down at the falls with her family who offered to take a picture of all of us. I'm so glad she offered, because I'm not really one to ask strangers to take our picture!

Well, that about covers our little outing to nature. It was such a nice time and the best part of it was that my Hubby and I had a lot of time to talk as we drove to and from the park. It's funny how you can just get so caught up with the busyness of life that you sometimes don't really take the time to talk to your spouse. What makes it even harder sometimes when you have a Hubby who works as hard and as much as mine does is that most of the time you have together is filled with trying to let him rest from all the long hours he puts in at work. I am so grateful for my Hubby and all he does for us so that I can stay home with our girls!

And speaking of our girls...tonight we are minus one little girl in our house. It's Miss Alyssa, and she's staying the night over at my sister Yvonne's house! Alyssa has been asking me for a while when she would be able to stay the night at her "Auntie Bon's" house. What's special about tonight is that it's her very first time being away from us overnight EVER. We figured that it was finally okay to let the girl her stay the night away from us. After all...she is four years old already! When I dropped her off tonight, she was kind enough to tell me that Audrey and I could go ahead and go home, LOL! She couldn't wait to start her Mommy and Daddyless night and something tells me she didn't miss us one single bit!!!

Hi Veronica,
Oh what a nice park! I absolutely love waterfalls. Even though there wasn't a ton of water,..it was sure pretty there!

I know what you mean about the busyness of life and how we don't really talk to each other enough. I love it when my hubby and I go on a road trip, because we talk all of the time and it is awesome! I tell him that I have a captive audience! ha!

I loved the pictures. So glad you got a family pic too.

And I am sure your grown up 4 year old had a great time at her Aunties house. Oh, and my grandkids "politely" tell there mama's "they can leave now" too. They are just anxious to get their adventure started. ((smile))

Have a great Saturday! We have a birthday party this morning for two of our grandkids.

Love, Linda

I'm not a nature person either. :) Your pictures looked like it was a fun day! I always love it when somebody will offer to take a picture and we can actually get a picture with the whole family.

I hope that Alyssa had a fantastic time and is full of hugs for you when you see her again today!

What a fun day you had! I love days like those.

How exciting for Alyssa! I remember staying the night at friends houses and how fun it was to be away from my folks! Of course I was happy to return home though, which I'm sure Alyssa will be too! :)

I am not an outdoor type girl either. But, I so wish we had cool places like that to visit around here! I love the pictures of you and the girls and the family picture.

I hope Alyssa had a fun sleepover. She sounds just like Madison.....Madison was always so excited about sleepovers that I was lucky if I could get a "bye" before I left. Ha! Kaylee, on the other hand, is the one I usually have to come pick up in the middle of the night. :)

Hope you have a great weekend!!

I didn't sleep much at all the first night Lucas spent it away. I was so worried....I finally dozed off about 3 and when I woke at 7 I was upset because he didn't call...then I thought he didn't need me anymore :)

I love the picture of all four of you!!!! I'm not one to ask others to take our picture either....I just can't do it....ugh!!!

Aw - what a milestone for Alyssa! I hope she enjoyed her night away. What a fun family outing too! My hubby loves the outdoors more than me too, but I do enjoy going to his bike races. We used to do a lot more hiking when we were dating...but somehow being pregnant for the last two summers and now being a mom means I have less of a desire to do those things. We're hoping to do lots of outdoorsy stuff when we go up to the UP (upper Michigan) in a few weeks and I'm looking forward to our little vacation. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday...I'm waiting for my hubby and Sweet Pea to decide to wake up. I feel bad waking them cuz we had a late night last night.

I love CA too! MN just doesnt compare by ANY means! The hubby and I love going, we always have a blast - and I love the weather! I dont know how you could leave if you lived there, we have talked about moving out there, but most of our family is here and MN is just a little cheaper living (sense any sarcasim there???)

Well looks like you had a blast from the pictures- what a fun family day.

I will be praying for your direction that is best for you...God knows and will lead you to it. Enjoy your break!

Talk to you soon!
