The Quest for Perfection

Just a little while ago, I started my post for today. My intention was to keep things short and sweet, which many of you know is difficult for me! What started off as something short became a super long post about some things I've been struggling with lately. I've decided to forget all about that post and get right to the point today.

As I've mentioned here before, I struggle with being a perfectionist. Sometimes it just eats away at me and it's easy for me to feel that things aren't good enough in many areas of my life. In my mind, everything has to be perfect. I impose that on my myself, my family and others. I totally realize that that is wrong, but something inside of me causes me to continue that behavior anyway. I try so hard to work on being better especially about not being so critical of myself and others. I can be rigid at times and only see things in black and white. I pray that one day I will be able to see that not everything or everyone around me needs to be perfect. Afterall, I am far from perfect.

The other day, while listening to my favorite radio station on my computer, KSBJ, they played this song. It made such an impact on me, because the words are so true. I've been singing this song over and over in my head all week, and today I just thought I would share it with all of you. (Be sure to mute the music at the bottom before you play the video).

If you are like me and struggle in this area, just remind yourself the words to this song.

P.S. I was so bummed to find out last week that as of June 1st, KSBJ was no longer able to do Internet broadcasts of their music due to increased taxes that are being imposed on Christian radio stations by record companies. Over the last few months, I have really enjoyed listening to their station on my computer. I was pretty upset when I found out that I wouldn't be able to listen to KSBJ on the computer anymore (since they are based in Houston and I'm here in CA), but I was so glad that at the beginning of this week, I found K-Love. As my blogging friend Kate also mentioned today, if you don't have a Christian station that you already listen to, this station is definitely one worth checking out!

You and I are so alike in this way. We have to quit worrying about things and just live life! I love this song....I've heard it a million times, but I never really listened closely to the words. It's a great message! God loves us exactly how we are and there's a reason he made us the way he did too, so we should quit doubting Him!

I had no idea about KSBJ. I'm glad Kate posted about KLOVE today....that's great! Today when I was cleaning, I discovered a Christian satellite station on the TV satellite that plays music all day....do y'all have any stations like that on your TV?

Hope you had a good day!! How's Audrey feeling??

Oh you know I struggle with this too! God has really been setting me free, though, and I gotta say it feels good! But it hasn't happened overnight. I know that he has freedom for you and I will be praying for you, Veronica!

K-Love is my favorite! I listen to it whenever I'm in the car.
