Catching Up

It's Monday already? My weekend flew by even though we didn't really do much but just relax and hang out. I even got to take a nap yesterday afternoon. How cool is that?

Today I want to get caught up on a few things and share pictures from my niece Roxann's high school graduation that we went to on Friday night. We were all so proud and excited to be a part of the graduation since it's been a while since the family has been able to celebrate a high school graduation!

Originally, my Hubby and I had only planned to make it to the dinner after the ceremony. We had arranged for my Mom to watch the girls, since it can be pretty rough taking two small children to events like that. At the last minute, we decided to ask my Mom if she could come over earlier so that we could make it to the graduation afterall. She agreed to come early, but since my Mom couldn't come any earlier than 4:45 ( and the graduation started at 5:00p.m.) we arrived late and there was seriously no parking left. We ended up having to park in a dirt area adjacent to some nearby crops. ( We live in an agricultural area where there are fields everywhere, especially along the perimeter of the city). When we went into the area that looked like extra parking, we were a little shocked to find it was pretty much a parking free for all and we ended up being lodged in between lots of other cars with no way out. I was totally freaking out about how we were going to get out when the graduation was over, but thankfully it didn't take us too long to get out after all. Here's a picture that my Hubby took of me when we were waiting for the other people to come back after the graduation so that we could get out of there!

There were tons of people who came out to the graduation. Since we got there late, it was standing room only down by the fence. Here's what my view looked like as I looked up at all the people sitting down in the bleachers. (That's my niece Hannah to the right holding the big bouquet of balloons that my MIL got for Roxann. Those balloons got banned to the light post there because they kept smacking everyone nearby!

Here's a picture I took of the kids as I was looking at them on the field...

I used my computer to zoom in lots more to this same picture and I was able to get a close up of my niece...There she is with a big smile!

After the graduation we went to a restaurant nearby called Cool Hand Luke's. Here's my Hubby and I enjoying our child-free evening. I love my girls so much but it's always nice to get a little break sometimes:) You can tell my Hubby's been working out in the sun a lot lately!

And here's a picture of my nephews with Roxann. From left to right...Rene (we call him Nene), Mathew, (Roxann), Joseph, and Elias.

And here's me with Roxann....

And Roxann and her grandma--my MIL...

And one last picture with my SIL, Yndira and Roxann.

Again, I didn't get a picture of everyone in the family ( I told you all my Hubby has a big family), but I will work on that at our next event. Both my niece Breanna and my nephew Joseph are graduating tomorrow so I will get to see everyone again!

In other news...I just wanted to update everyone on a couple of other things I've talked about here on my blog. Back in April, I posted about how we were told at Alyssa's last doctor visit to her podiatrist that she needed to see a specialist to get her feet checked out again since she'd still been falling a lot, even with the help of her orthotics. In that post, I had asked if you all would be so kind as to pray for Alyssa and her little feet. Well, after I posted about it and got the referral to the new doctor, I decided to hold off on taking her to that specialist to see if she would made any improvements. I am so happy to say that she is doing SO much better. I haven't seen her fall in a long time and she has been running everywhere lately! Thank you all so much for your prayers and thanks to Kristin for asking me about how she was doing. God is so good!!! I had been meaning to post an update, I just got so caught up on other things around here:)

The other thing I also wanted to mention is how I've been feeling in regards to my thryroid issue. Last week I posted about how I talked to my doctor about going off of my thyroid medication completely. I just want to say thank you all so, so much for being supportive of my decison to go in that direction. It's been almost a week on the new slightly lower dosage, and I am feeling okay. I've started to get a little of the tired symptoms I get when my dosage is too low, but I think a lot of it may have to do with the fact that I decided to stop drinking soda and coffee last week too!! I probably put my body into shock, but I really felt that the soda and coffee had to go. The plan, as far as my thryroid is concerned, is to stay on this particular dose of my medicine for a month, then go to another lower dosage for another month after that. The next step is to go get some labwork done to see where my levels are at. What I really wanted to mention, since I've been thinking about this a lot since I talked about this last week, is that I am aware that things may not go the way I want them to. I have even questioned if this whole idea of getting off the medication was dumb in the first place. What I really want you to know is that I am aware of the possiblity that I will need to stay on the medication. I know the Lord wants us to walk in faith, but at the same time he wants us to use exercise wisdom as well. In the meantime, I will just keep praying that the Lord's will will be done!
Well, sorry for this post being so long, I just have lots to talk about lately. I am so excited for all the fun stuff going on this week...Graduations, some hats to make, and my big girl's 4th birthday and party. Where is the time going, anyway??? Hope you all have a great week and thanks for sticking around to listen to me ramble today!!!

Yay Roxann!!!! Congratulations!

I love that picture of you by your car. And I loved all the other pictures too. Morgan looks just like Fernando....this one guy at church always comments about how red he is, but he just naturally stays that way from being outside so much. I'm glad y'all got to enjoy a night out by yourselves.

I'm glad that Alyssa is doing so well and that you're doing okay so far with your meds.

I can't wait to hear all about Alyssa's 4th Birthday! Before you know it, you'll be blogging about her 1st day of Kindergarten. LOL!

Sometimes i wonder if I should try to go off my thyroid meds, but it's pretty clear I need it right now. I'm excited to see what happens for you!

What fun! I just LOVE being part of a big family! Congrats to your neice! My little sister just graduated high school - I can hardly believe how grown up she is already!

So glad to hear Alyssa is doing so well. Still praying for your throid issue. For probably the first time in my life since I was five, I'm am on NO medications. I was on migraine and allergy meds until I got pregnant with Valerie and had to stop. Thankfully, I haven't had problems with migraines...just minor headaches here and there. And, my allergies have been better with pregnancy too. Maybe I just need to stay pregnant to be healthy ;) Ha! Anyhow, I know what a burden it is to have medications to remember, so I'm praying for you.

Looks like a great weekend! I get some alone time with hubby tomorrow! Yay!

Glad you & Alyssa are doing better. I don't think I could ever give up coffee. It's the only think helping me function. :)

P.S. I emailed you back the other day. I hope you got it. I never know with our emails. :)
