I thought since this is New Year's Eve (and I'm already in my jammies for the night) I'd better get to posting about our Christmas before it becomes 2012!
This year was different than previous years but it was still a nice Christmas. We started off by celebrating on Christmas Eve with brunch at my Dad and Step-Mom's house. Here are a few pics from that morning.
Alyssa, my niece Natalya and Audrey
Me and Alivia. She's getting so big, huh? Her birthday is just around the corner in April!
I love this plate that my Step-Mom had in their entry way.
I made these cranberry cheesecake bars and they were SO good. I found the recipe in a Gooseberry Patch
Christmas magazine that my Step-Mom gave me. I will have to post the recipe sometime soon!
Brunch was really good and my Step-Mom made some delicious things! Here's what my plate looked like...
Later that night, my BIL from out of town came over to visit us and to bring presents for the girls. The girls had a lot of fun visiting with their uncle and of course, opening presents!
On Christmas Day, I hardly took any pictures at all because we pretty much bummed it the whole day in our jammies until about dinner time. My sister Dolly and her husband Manny came over to have dinner with us and I made my first ever prime rib. I got the recipe from the Pioneer Woman's site and it was SO good!
It's a good thing I was shooting for an early dinner time because the recipe was a little bit off as far as the cooking time and it ended up taking an extra hour to cook it so that the meat wasn't still mooing, lol!
All in all, it was a great Christmas although for some reason I felt a little sad this year. Maybe it was because we weren't able to buy lots of gifts for other people. At the heart of it, it was a great reminder of what the true meaning of Christmas is all about. It's not about how much you got to give or received. It's all about Jesus!

What a fun Christmas! Your Christmas Eve brunch plate made my mouth water!!! The girls are all growing so fast.
And your prime rib looks divine!!!
that's a good brunch!
The prime rib looks yummy! (I love prime rib!)
The brunch food looked wonderful too.
Glad you enjoyed your time with your dad and step mom...and the gathering at your house too.
I love, love, love the picture of you and Livvy. She is just looking so much older...and she is such a doll!
All of your girls are pretty like their momma.
Sorry you have been feeling sad. Maybe it's hormones??? Whatever the reason...I will be praying for you sweetie. Love, Momma
Sounds like a great Christmas to me...love the family photos. The girls sure have grown!
Finances were tight for our family and all of our relatives, too. We decided to cut wayyy back on the presents and to focus more on our time together. The result was a wonderful time for all!
Blessings to you and your family in the coming year!
