Yesterday ended up being a little bit bittersweet. Father's Day just tends to be that way for me. See, I used to be a bigtime Daddy's girl but a lot of that changed when my parents seperated and subsequently divorced when I was still in high school. I don't share a lot about the details of that kinda stuff on here because I try to be sensitive to family but what I will say is that over the past year, I've struggled to have a relationship with my dad. I wish that certain circumstances were different, but they just aren't. It's crazy how even at 30 years old, certain things can still matter so much to a person. I want to have a better relationship with my Dad but I'm still working through how to get there. Until then, Father's Day is just one of those days that hurts.
As a result of my issues with Father's Day, yesterday wasn't the best day for my Hubby. I was very selfish and made my own issues spoil the day and for that I am really sorry.
Fortunately, it wasn't all bad. I was able to get a sweet picture of Daddy and his girls from the brunch we went to with my Hubby's brother and his family.
{Daddy and his girls}
If I know one thing, I know that a bond between a father and his daughters is a special one. I know that our girls love their Daddy and he will always have a special place in their hearts even when they're grown and gone.
I'm so thankful for my Hubby for being such a great father to our girls. We are blessed and so thankful for for all he does to provide for us! Happy Father's Day to the best daddy ever!
P.S. Hopefully I won't be so down in the dumps tomorrow and I'll be able to share how Alyssa's birthday turned out from over the weekend. I'm still trying to recover from that and I'm thinking that I may just have to rethink big parties from now and going foward! It was fun but just a ton of work!

i won't say, "i know how you feel," because i know everyone processes these things differently, but father's day is also bittersweet for me! it was a great day being with ben and austin, but i struggle with my relationship with my dad since their divorce also. i didn't even call him. :( i sent him a card and a text. :) hope you are starting to cheer up today! :)
Hope you are feeling better.
That is a great picture of the girls with their Daddy. Alivia is growing so fast.
I hope you're feeling better today! Sometimes it's hard when holidays roll around and everyone around you assumes it's a happy time. I was planning worship for the hospital yesterday and I wondered how to mention Father's Day - because you never know what people are going through!
Your hubby looks so happy with all of his girls - like a king with three princesses! :)
that is a really sweet picture of your husband and girls. :) I have been there... ruining a special day because of my own issues and thankfully Jeremy is always understanding and gracious. I your mood gets better soon! praying for you!
I understand how you feel, my parents divorced when I was an infant and my dad left and I only saw him once in my life when I was about 8. But the Lord provided so many wonderful uncles and friends dad's that stepped up to fill in the gap my absent Father left.
Give your concerns to the Lord, He is able to restore your relationship with your Dad.
One of my favorite verses is
"He will restore the years the locust have eaten" and He does.

I just love that picture of the girls with their Daddy! :) I hope everything works out. I understand about it being hard when your relationship with your Dad changes. The good thing is that tomorrow is a new day.....I hope it will be a better one for you! Love ya!!
I'm sorry Father's Day wasn't a nice one for you. Hopefully soon things can turn around for you and your dad.
Can't wait to hear how the party went and see all the pictures!
Sorry Father's day wasn't the best. Mine was terrible really yesterday but I always have a tough time since my Dad is gone. My hubby is working a lot of hrs last week and is working a straight 13 , 10 hr days this week. My step-son is just adding to the problems and I was glad when yesterday was over.
Excited to hear about the party !!

I will pray for the situation with your dad. I know things like that can be so hard.
I love you sweetie.
That is such a precious picture of your hubby with the girls.
Looking forward to happier days for you.

Awww hon I'm so sorry you had a bad day! I can't imagine what that must have been like. I am saying a prayer that you will be able to work through those feelings and whatever is meant to be and is best for you will happen.
Hugs
I'm sorry that Father's Day was such a stressful day for you, Veronica!
Praying for you and your family.
As far as birthdays, go...when my boys were little, I learned to take the easy way out. I ordered the birthday cake, bought juice boxes and chips, and rented the town's gym ($25 for three hours). The kids wore themselves out by running and playing ball, and I had NO mess to clean up afterwards, other than throwing away paper plates and cups! Perhaps you could rent someplace for the future birthday celebrations...it's worth every penny! ;-)
I can understand your bittersweet feelings towards this day. I am sorry you are going through this. I walk a similar road. I often find myself tempted in writing it down but then I don't. My mom and I don't get along for many, many reasons...and it truly used to hurt me so very much until I finally gave it to the Lord.
I know that reconciliation will happen and am happy that you were able to enjoy the day with your husband and girls.
I'm sorry it was such a bittersweet day for you and that you struggle with your relationship with your dad. I wish it were different for you.
The pic of daddy and the girls is super sweet!
i have no idea how it feels to feel that way. my dad and i aren't majorly close, nor have we ever been, so i know how 'that part' feels now. but God is good. and i'll be praying!!
