Today I had my 30 week check up! My MIL watched the girls for me while I went to my appointment, and everything went great. I was in and out within 35 minutes or so which was really nice! I was excited to see that I'd only gained a 1/2 pound since my last visit two weeks ago. That's a miracle considering the treats I've been eating lately, especially the ones I had over the weekend for Valentine's Day! I'm really supposed to be watching my sugar intake, but so far I haven't been doing too good of a job at that. I'm in the home stretch now with the pregnancy and I really should doing a better job at watching what I eat.
While on my way to pick the girls up, I stopped by the school Alyssa will be attending in the fall to check out the flyer posted about Kindergarden registration, which is already in two days! I knew it was this week but I just wanted to make sure I would know what to bring with me when I register her. The school was closed for the holiday so all was quiet there. I drove past the Kindergarden classes/play area and it hit my like a ton of bricks: I cannot believe that this is the year my big girl will be starting school! I drove away sobbing and the tears kept flowing. I was glad the girls weren't in the car with me because I didn't want them to think me crying had anything to do with them. This was just one of several episodes lately where I feel like I'm an emotional basket case.
Like I mentioned the other day, I've been doing a lot of thinking. In less than 10 weeks, I will be a new Mommy again. I've always prided myself in being an organizer and a planner but for some reason, I've been neither of those things lately. I've been feeling a bit scattered and I finally realized that I've gotten almost nothing done to get ready for the arrival of our new little girl. It's also going to be this sweet little girl's birthday in less than a month and I haven't even started planning anything for her party either!
After a lot of thought lately, I finally decided to take a break from my little hat business as of March 1st. I had been trying to put it off, since I love crocheting and getting to do something for me, but I started to realize that the time has come to give it a little break so that I can focus on the other things that I need to get done around here. I know that life is going to be super busy tending to three little ones, so I'm just going to play things by ear and get back into business again when I feel like the time is right. In the meantime, I'll be trying to add some hats to my website if I have the chance.
I know I can be my own worst enemy at times, so I just keep reminding myself that everything will work out and I don't need to be getting myself all worked up over nothing. I've been down this road before and I know what to expect. It's just these darn hormones that get me all turned around!
P.S. Be sure to check out my Review/Giveaway blog for the newest giveaway!

Hey there , Try not to stress. I went through the same thing last year. I had my next to youngest to get signed up for Kindergarden and having a baby at the end of April. Two other kids in school all day 1st and 2nd grade. Wow !!!! My kids attend a year round school so it just seemed like I had the baby and school started in middle of July. I remember feeling like I was leaving someone out. Saying a prayer for you and everything will come together just fine. I also had children's birthdays Feb , March and April too. I know those hormones can cause so much. Take care.

I'm glad your appointment went well today! I can imagine how you felt realizing that your biggest girl will be old enough for school this year! I'm not looking forward to those days at all!
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
Just hang on to the vine you little branch. He will get all neccessary things done in it's time.
I'm so glad that your appt went well!! yeah for only gaining 1/2lb!!! :) and, remember that you are pregnant with your 3rd baby and you can be a little emotional, forgetful and unorganized... it's okay!! one day, you will have it all back in order but right now, it's okay. just relax, be you and enjoy this season. I know how you feel because being out of control is not an easy thing to be but you have lots of prayers being prayed for you! you can do it! :)
You know I almost cried when I put pigtails in V for the first time, so don't feel bad...it's all part of being a mommy. It's hard to see our babies grow up, but it's exciting to see them grow into little people too. I'm glad you finally made a decision about your hat business. I've taken a break from my Etsy shop too and it's very freeing. I know I can pick it back up whenever I want to and this way I can do the sewing for my kids when I have the chance. Hope your day goes well today!
Aww. hormones do that to us - and our babies growing up!
It doesn't make sense to push yourself to do something you love so that eventually you are at a point where you don't love it anymore!! You are such a great mommy and it is going to be so much fun for you to have a little one around - obviously you know with Alyssa and kindergarten that it just flies by!! So enjoy every moment of it.
xoxo
Go easy on yourself, Ver!!! You've got A LOT going on these days, so no crocheting for a little while is A-ok. Look at it as a vacay for YOU!!
I love everyone's advice! We are all praying and cheering for you!
I know it's emotional with Kindergarten, but it brings about a whole new adventure too. You will love getting to go to Alyssa's parties and she will love showing you what she's learning. School is really alot of fun. She'll get to have fun, learn, and be with friends, and it will relieve some of the pressure on you during the day too. I told Morgan I cannot believe Lily is old enough for preschool next year! Time does fly.
And those darn hormones......they get the best of us all at times! You're a wonderful Mommy!
praise god for your obedience to HIS calling on your life. you'll be done with your break by july though right?! :0) totally kidding...i was going to ask if you wanted to be part of my giveaway 'gala' thing in april, but now that you decided to not do anything after march 1st, i totally understand!! have you tried out the pound cake yet?! hope you loved it if you did!!
praying for you sweet friend!!
i'm so glad that i don't have to cry when i put amelya in kindergarten, well i'll be honest and say it made me 'sad' to start homeschooling kindergarten stuff with her, even though i'm not sending her to school it's been hard to realize how big she's getting. i can't believe she's going to be five in a few weeks!! where does time go!!
Glad your appointment went well and was so quick. There are just times in your life when things get a little more hectic. I am a planner too...sometimes the plans get thrown out the window & you just have to go with the flow. Motherhood can do that to you every now and then. Hang in there...you will get a flow & a routine again soon.
Hugs,
Mimi
Sweet Veronica...I love how people love you... and how they are praying for you my girl. And like Kristin said...you are getting a lot of good advice here in your comments.
You know I had three girls and my oldest started school when my third daughter was born too. So I can remember how it was way back then...and I do know what you are feeling. I do remember that hormones play a big part in bringing on our tears. Things will settle down...just hang in there.
Like Kristin said...it gets easier and it will be fun to see how Alyssa enjoys school.
Each stage is fun of life...it really does just keep getting better and better honey. Slow down and just enjoy each moment of your children's lives.
You are a great mommy a true blessing to your husband and children.
Hugging you in my heart.
Momma Linda
You will be great Ver! I am sure it is a stressful & emotional time but you are such a sweet person and you will all transition with miss Aliva!
Praying for you and hoping you are doing better tonight!
Love ya girl!
Angie
Awe! I can't imagine what I will be like the day my children start school. I am sure I will be just like you and I won't even have the pregnancy hormones as an excuse! Such cute pictures of your girls. I am excited to see little Alivia. I am sure you will be just fine as a Mommy to three sweet girls!
Oh Veronica...I remember my girls' first day at school. I was 9 months pregnant and VERY emotional. I cried...she didn't. LOL! I also cried this year when she began first grade...ay!
On another note...I am so happy that your appt. went well. Time is super flying...can't wait to see your baby girl.
Girl, do what is best for your family and never look back! God has blessed you with the responsibility of being a Mommy and He will give you the strength to complete the task!! Love you!!
I know how you are feeling about sending your first one off to kindergarten. I remember the feeling well. So well, as a matter of fact, that I couldn't do it. I decided that I could not send him off. So, I decided to homeschool, which I did until he went into the fifth grade. By then, I had four kids that were going to all be going to school at the same time and I had similar feelings even then. But they were all a little older and it seemed a little easier for me by then.
When Alivia comes, everything will fall into place and come naturally to you, your hubby and your girls. She will only be a blessing that you could not imagine that you ever lived without. :)
In & out appts are always good! Some of the moms that are in the same month club as me for Kyndra are already sending their kids to preschool and it's so crazy to think about Kyndra being in preschool b/c she's only 2!
I didn't even stress over a party this year for Kyndra. We just went to a children's museum and had fun for the day. My parents and my niece came too and they had a lot of fun!
