Happy {Actual} Blogiversary to me and a couple of other things

Well, after getting my wires crossed a little last week and starting my Blogiversary party a little bit early, I've finally reached my actual Blogiversary!  It was one year ago today that I started this blog and it's been so awesome getting to have a place to share what's on my mind and meeting so many awesome people in the process.  I really couldn't imagine my life without my blog and the people that I've met this last past year!

This weekend was a busy one starting on Friday when I got to have a girls day out with my big girl.  My Hubby was home because it rained, so he was able to watch Audrey while Alyssa and I got out to go get haircuts and do a little shopping.  It was fun getting to spend some one-on-one time with her.  The last time we went and got haircuts was in November right before Thanksgiving.  Both of us needed trims badly!  Alyssa went back to her short little do and it turned out so cute.  My haircut, on the other hand, didn't turn out exactly like I'd wanted.  I asked my hair stylist to go shorter but not so short that I can't put it up in a ponytail.  Well, my hairdresser must have been having a bad day because my hair did not turn out like I expected.  I walked out of there not sure how to feel and decided that I'd try to give it a little time to see how I felt about it.  It's been two days and I hate it.  Maybe I'll share a picture of it this week and see what anyone else thinks about it.

While Alyssa and I were away, my Hubby called his mom and made arrangements for her to come over and watch the girls for the night so we could go out on a date.  I was so excited that he did that because we really needed a night out to ourselves!  We went to a local Sushi place and had some yummy (fully cooked) sushi rolls and after that, went down to Pismo Beach and walked on the pier.  It was such a nice night out not having to worry about the girls and when we got home, both girls and their Grandma were sound asleep on the big bed in Audrey's room!

The highlight of our weekend was getting out this morning and making it to church!  It's been several months since we've been to to church, but after several weeks of talking about it, we decided yesterday to get out and just go.  Since we still haven't found a church in our own town, we decided just to go back to our old church which is about 35 minutes away from here.  Our hope is find somewhere closer to home, but in the meantime, it was a huge step just getting back out there!

This afternoon, we headed over to my BIL and SIL's house for the Super Bowl.  I'm not a big football fan but my Hubby is, so while he was watching the game with the guys, I hung out with the girls, eating way too many yummy things, and tried to make sure our kids stayed out of trouble.!  Alyssa had a blast playing Dora games on NickJr.com with her cousin,

while Audrey got away with murder and got her Grandma to give her an ice cream and a few other treats!

It sure was one busy weekend!  It's only a little after nine and I'm ready for bed!

Well, I just wanted to say thanks so much again to everybody who was a part of my Blogiversary Bash last week.  I hope you had a great time and just in case you're wondering who all the winners are, you can hop on over HERE to find out!

P.S.  Just wanted to mention that if you still have my blog party button up, you can feel free to take it down now! :)  Thanks so much!

It sounds like you had a great weekend. A date night and you all got out to church? Yay for you! We went over to a friends for the superbowl too and it sounds like I did the same thing that you did, not watch the game much at all. LOL I am glad that New Orleans won though. I always want the underdog to win. :)

yay to a great weekend. i'm so sorry you hate your haircut!! i want mine cute but am afraid of not liking it, so i keep putting it off! i also need it colored SO badly...anyways.

don't grandmas always spoil? i've learned to embrace it, and the kids have learned to LOVE it. :0) and i'll be able to be the grandma and spoil my grandbabies one day!!

do you guys have any calvary chapels by you? i'm assuming you may, only beause chuck smith started the ones out there...and i was 'creepy' and did a search for you, you have one right in the town you live in. ((although i will not post the link to the churches close to you, but if you go to the site you can search and find it!)) and they even have their own preschool at the church! how cool. :0) anyways we've been going to calvary for years, and really enjoy it! my pastor and his wife moved to wisconsin from cali (had to be GOD telling them to move HERE for sure. lol) and actually know a lot of the pastors out there yet because of starting out there. anyways...we love calvary and maybe you would too!!

sorry to ramble. but i thought if you haven't been there you may enjoy it. when we've been on vacation i've done calvary chapel searches and we have not gone to one where you don't feel instantly welcomed. it's SO nice to walk into a church and feel so welcomed, even though you've never ever been there!

rambling again! yikes. anyways. glad you had a good weekend. ;0)

It sounds like you did have a busy weekend! I'm sorry about your haircut....I hate it when they don't do what you ask them to, but I bet it looks cute anyways! I'm glad you were able to go to church! Did the girls have fun going? I'm glad you got to have a date night too!!

I am tired reading everything that went on...but that is awesome that you had a date night. I love those. The best! Sorry about the hair. I have felt that way about my girl the last two times. ugh.

My hair is crazy right now because I have missed two of my haircuts. But I am trying to see if I can do anything with it at this length. If not...then I will go ahead and get it cut again. (:>) I hope you will like your hair better in a few days after you have worked with it awhile!

So cool that you got a night out with your hubby. A marriage needs special alone times when ya don't have to worry about the kids. That's when Grandmas come in handy! ((smile))
