A name and a winner

As you can see here...

We've finally decided on which spelling to go with for Baby Girl's name!  On Monday night, I had my Hubby sit down with me at the computer so I could share with him all of the awesome comments we received!  I hadn't even told him that I would be asking for help with the spelling of the baby's name, so it was kinda of a fun suprise to share with him.  Oh and since I said yesterday that I would talk a little bit about my Hubby, here's the deal:  In case you've even wondered why I never use his real name, it's pretty much so that he can have some privacy.  When I first started this blog, we agreed that I would use it to talk mostly about stuff going on in my life and with the girls.  My Hubby is a HUGE part of my life, but I want for him to feel comfortable about what I blog about.  People who know him in real life would agree that my Hubby is one that is pretty reserved and likes his privacy.  Me on the other hand...I'm prety much an open book.  The way you "hear" me talk on my blog is pretty much what you'd hear if you talked to me in real life! :)

Back to the name conversation...we got to talking about the pros and cons about spelling the baby's name either way, and as much as I LOVE the idea of continuing with using the letter "y," we agreed that spelling it the simplest way possible will eliminate any confusion.  I can already picture someone seeing her name on paper if we spelled it with a "y" and them trying to say it like Al-i-vee-ya.  The last thing I want to do is make things harder for her!

Now that we've decided on her name,  I feel I can move on with the other things for baby.  Yesterday I started looking around online to check out the different bedding sets.  With both of the girls, I picked out really cutesy prints for their rooms, but this time I've been thinking about going in a different direction with the nursery.  I was totally surprised to find myself liking these two cute sets that had little birdies on them...

They're not ususally things I'd pick, but I thought they might be kinda different.

It will be fun to keep searching around to see what I can find for our little girl.  It's amazing how much just deciding on a name came help make things so much more real!  I've already been referring to her as Liv and Livvie and I just love hearing her name.  It's been cute too to hear Audrey say her little sister's name.  When she says it, it sounds like "Libby." :)

Well, I did promise today that I'd be picking a winner for my little giveaway from the other day.  I had 32 entries including the three that came from my Facebook post. I decided to put all the names in a bowl and Alyssa picked...

Congrats, Amanda!  I already have your address, so I will get your package sent out to you ASAP!

Thank you so much to everyone for just being there to listen and give me your feedback.  It really means a lot to me! :)

P.S.  I just wanted to congratulate my friend Kate, who announced today on her blog that she's expecting.  I am so excited!  If you haven't been to visit Kate's blog yet, hop on over THERE and say hi!

UPDATE 1/14/10...If haven't been to Kate's blog yet, please be sure to stop by and offer your support.  She updated her blog with some new news about her pregnancy today.  I'm sure she would appreciate your prayers right now.  Thanks so much!

Yeah1 Love the name! And the bedding sets are both really cute- you could get a vinyal sticker tree (mostly just a branch with a bird) off etsy. I have seen lots of cute birdy stuff on there- or do a bird house with something in it!! can't wait for more pics of your progress!

I love that spelling! I think it is the prettiest anyways! I am so glad that you decided on one. Getting decisions out of the way does seem to help and move on to the next one. :)

Congrats to Amanda for winning your giveaway too!

I liked the first spelling better, but thought the y thing was cool to carry on, so I like your choice for name spelling. I thought it easier too. Beautiful name.

The name is beautiful, however it is spelled! You are right though, this spelling will probably be easier to pronounce. I love the first birdie bedding set, but they are both nice. Congrats to the winner!
