Super Duper Christmas!

Wow!  It's already the day after Christmas and I can't believe it's taken me this long to get back to the blog!  It's been an amazing last few days and we've been so blessed!  In all honestly, I wasn't quite sure what kind of a Christmas this year would turn out to be considering that we weren't able to give as many gifts as we usually do plus I wasn't able to spend Christmas with all of my family this year.  Despite a few bumps in the road, we ended up having an awesome Christmas anyway!  The family was so sweet about goodies I ended up making and one of my SIL's even was kind enough to suggest that I start doing those kinds of goodies every year in place of traditional gifts!  That really made me smile to know how appreciative everyone was!  Baking is seriously no joke!  Seriously...to all of you who do that every single year, I don't know how you do it!  You are my heroes! :)

On Christmas Eve morning, I decided to try to get a couple of pics of the girls.  The key word there was TRY!  This was the only picture I could get where Audrey actually smiled, and even then she was being so silly!

I tried to get a couple more, but as you can tell only one out of two little girls liked her picture being taken!  (Notice Audrey crying on the side?  Yup...little girl didn't want her picture taken much this Christmas and I have a bunch more "Alyssa only" pictures to prove it)!

In the evening of Christmas Eve, we all got together with my Hubby's family to hang out like we do every year.  We had some yummy food and hung out until around 11:00 when we finally started opening up gifts.  The girls were already super tired by then so I was so glad when it was time to open presents!  By then, I had already put Audrey in her PJ's so we could just get the girls right home to bed when we finished up opening presents.

Here's Audrey getting some help opening presents from her cousin Breanna...

Alyssa had such a good time opening up her presents too!

The girls were so blessed with all the gifts they received!  We ended up driving home with a trunk load of gifts that night and on Christmas morning, Alyssa was up bright and early to play with all her presents!

Later on in the morning, my sister Dolly and my Mom came over to bring gifts and have breakfast with us.  We had a nice time hanging out and watching the girls open more presents.  My mom even made a special blanket for the new baby that I will definitely have to take a picture of and share another day.  It was so precious!

After it was all said and done, I looked around to see what appeared to be a war zone.  There were Barbie pieces and pretend food and lots of other new toys everywhere!  It's taken me the last day to get things back in order and things are still not 100% cleaned up!

Well, there's lots more to share, but I am so tired I'd better say goodnight for now.  All of us are still trying to catch up on our sleep around here, and even after a nap today, we're all still totally beat!  Tonight we even made it out bowling with the family and then tomorrow we'll be having a BBQ with everyone.  Talk about one long fun, super duper Christmas weekend!!!

Hi Veronica,
It sounds like you had a great Christmas this year. We did ours yesterday and it was so nice.

I think it is kind of sad to see Christmas pass. I wish we could all carry that feeling with us all year long.

My son-in-law is preaching this morning at their church, so John and I are going to go that church this morning. And I guess I had better start getting ready.

Love ya,
Momma Linda

Glad you had a great Christmas, minus Audrey not wanting to smile - happens often around here.

Isn't the warzone look cool for a while - reminds me of how blesses we are BUT then I need to clean it up or I'll go insane :o)

BTW - loved the hats you made Kristin's girl! You're awesome!
