Reasons to Smile

Today has been a good day!  I'm so excited that it's Friday and the weekend is finally here!  I can't believe we only have a week to go until Christmas!

Today's been a nice and relaxing kind of day and I'm feeling pretty good despite the way the week started.  Audrey has been doing amazingly well getting adjusted to her new bed situation and I can't help but believe that it's because of your prayers that helped us get through the transition of going from crib to big girl bed.  Just last night, I laid her in her bed and she didn't fight me or try to get out of her bed even once.  Talk about a night and day difference from just a few days ago.  It was amazing! :)

Over the last couple of days, I've been marveling at how awesomely blessed I've been this year.  The Lord has been so good to me and I just can't help but look back on the year and see His hand on it all.  One of the greatest blessings, besides finding Him again is getting to make so many wonderful friends through the blogging world.  I can remember a time not long ago where I felt so lonely and I'd cry and tell my Hubby that I wish the Lord would send me a friend.  He more than answered that we He sent me not only a friend, but many new friends.  Each new friendship made this year has been one of the greatest gifts I've ever received.  In all honestly, I'm just a ordinary (and probably pretty boring person to some) kind of girl, so getting to share what's going on in my everyday life and have others be a part of that is so special to me.

Yesterday I received a new award from my sweet blog friend Elisabeth!  I feel honored that Elisabeth thought of me and passed the award my way!

Like all other blog awards, there are rules.  Here they are for the Happy 101 Award:
List 10 things that make you happy, try to do at least one of them today, and tag 10 bloggers that brighten your day. For those 10 bloggers who get the award, you then link back to my blog and create your makes you happy list.

Here are 10 things that make me happy...

1.)  Waking up every morning to two smiling little people who call me Mommy
2.)  Blogging
3.)  Knowing that the Lord loves me and that He's there with me through all seasons of my life
4.)  Feeling the baby girl inside my belly moving around
5.)  Getting an email or card from a friend
6).  Looking around at a clean house
7.)  Spending one-on-one time with my Hubby
8.)  Listening to music
9.)  Making someone else smile
10.)  Singing songs to the Lord with my girls

Although there are so many friends to choose from, this time I'm giving this award to...

1)  Kristin @ These Little Girls of Mine
2)  Linda @Truthful Tidbits
3)  Stephanie Hanes @ The Hanes Family Chronicles
4)  Julie @ My Southern Heart
5)  Maryellen @ Abundant Blessings, who was sweet enough to make my day by agreeing to do an ornament trade with me this year.  I was so excited to receive the package from her yesterday (she lives in New Jersey) and sent me this awesome ornament from New York City!  Isn't it so cool?

6)  Amanda @ Popping Out One Letter at a Time
7.)  Sarah @ Gives and Takes
8.)  Sarah @ The Strength of Faith
9.)  Veronnica @ The Adventures of Miss V
10)  Anna @ California for Life, who also put a smile on my face, when I went to check my mail yesterday and got a birthday card from her.

She totally had me LOL with the last line of what she wrote in the card..."P.S. You seriously look WAY younger than 30!"  OMGoodness, I was dying with laughter and I loved it!

Thank you so much Maryellen and Anna for making me smile extra big yesterday!!!

Well, my girlies are just about to wake up from their naps, so I'd better get going.  Tonight my Hubby and I are going to his work Christmas party while my Mom watches the girls for us.  I'm feeling like a new woman now that I had the chance to color my hair this morning and gave myself a bang trim!  :)  Have a great weekend everybody!!!

P.S.  I also wanted to mention that my friend Steph over at The Houston House is having an awesome giveaway for an autographed copy of the Pioneer Woman Cooks.  You can go HERE to check out how to enter into the giveaway!

What an amazing testimony to have for this past year!

I remember a time when I felt lonely too and prayed that God would bring me a friend. Since that time I've reconnected with a few and have met a few too! God is good....all the time!

Thanks for the award! THAT brought a smile to my face!

Have a nice weekend! ;)

Yay! You got the card! I was hoping it wouldn't get lost in the mail or something. I am glad you like it! But seriously, I would have NEVER placed you at 30! :0)

That is so neat that the ornament you have came from NY! I love the Broadway St. sign on it.

Also, thank you so, so, so much for the award! I have always thought how neat it would be to have one. That totally made my day!

I totally believe it was because of prayer that our sleeping situation with Molly changed too! She now sleeps through the night in her bed, but a month ago she wasn't. Prayer is awesome and so are you! Yea for blogging friends!

Thank you thank you!! I am so touched!!

I remember first reading your blog when you had the tagline about never have a short version to any story - and I just thought, talk about a girl after my own heart!!

I'm glad to hear the bedtime routine is going better - I bet the girls are getting excited about reading to their new baby sister at night!!

Thanks again and have a great weekend!!

xoxo,
Sarah :)

So glad the ornament arrived and in one piece. It was my pleasure and joy to send it to you.
You are not a boring girl at all.
You are a wonderful Godly, wife, mom, sister, daughter and friend.
