Friday Fun

I totally meant to post this on Friday and got lazy and the rest is history!  It's Sunday night now and I figured I'd better get going and publish this before it gets any later!

So, I'm usually not the "fun mom" type and I'll admit that a lot of time I don't do a lot of fun, messy projects with the girls because I hate all the clean up afterward. But...I brought some extra tissue/paper home from my Monday MOPS project and had a couple of extra jars I wanted to use to make more pumpkins and decided to live a little!  After school on Friday, I pulled out our modge podge and got to work with Alyssa and Audrey to make us some more pumpkin lanterns. Alyssa was first...

I helped Alyssa cut out the pieces for the face with her direction and she ended up making a face that looked happy and much less scary than the pumpkin I made at MOPS!  When Alyssa's pumpkin was done, it was Audrey's turn. Alyssa told me she wanted to take pictures of me and Audrey making her pumpkin since I'd been taking her picture.  This was one of her first shots and it was of Audrey being her silly self! Ha!

I like this next shot because it's from Alyssa's point of view, looking up to the counter where I'd set my pumpkin and hers next to mine, to dry.  (Mine has more glue around the eyes because they were starting to peel off from my lack of proper gluing the first time!)

Here was Audrey and I working on her baby pumpkin...

Audrey told me she wanted a mad face for her pumpkin but I didn't have the heart to do it, so I helped her make a face I thought looked happy.  In the end, it looked more like a clown face, lol.  You'll see the finished product at the end of this post and you can tell me what you think! ;)

Now I know these next two pics have nothing to do with our project, but I figured I would throw them in anyway. This was our dinner that night and if I'm gonna be honest on this blog, I should share that I've been getting lazy in the eating right and home cooked meals department.  I'm working on getting back to being a "good girl" but in the meantime...Papa Murphy's has become my bff, lol!

We ordered a pizza for the girls and another that was more gourmet and it was SO good.  It's the De-Lite with the thinner crust and had chicken and artichokes with a creamy garlic sauce. Yum!

At the end of the night, I made sure to get a pic of all three finished lanterns with the little lights inside. I think they turned out pretty good!

Tonight I also wanted to mention a few more things:

#1...I totally flaked and didn't announce the winner of my little TX giveaway from last week. I drew a number via Random.org on Friday and the winner was Julie!  I'll be sending you these really soon Julie and hopefully you and the boys can have some baking fun!

#2...I'm so happy to share some amazing news about our cousin's baby girl that I asked you to pray for last week!  After spending the weekend at UCLA for tests, they were able to find just one small hole in Brooklyn's heart (instead of the two that they originally thought were there) and they don't see the need for surgery at this time!  We are so excited and know the Lord totally answered our prayers.  The family is making their way back home tonight WITH baby!  Thank you to those of you who prayed. We appreciate the prayers so much!

#3...And this is totally shallow of me but I'm gonna to share anyway.  Tomorrow I get to trash my Blackberry and finally get the iPhone I've been drooling over for months! I'm so excited!  Having an iPhone will make my life easier for so many reasons but I also think it's gonna be another fun tool to use for blogging since it's way easier to take pics with your phone instead of a bulky dSLR.  Woo hoo, I can't wait!!!

Yay for getting an iPhone - I keep begging Ted for one, but we just don't have the money right now. :( Someday, though!

So proud of you for going outside your comfort zone and doing this project with your girls. I'm sure it will be something they will always remember. :)

love the de-lite pizza! Our papa murphy's does a great fundraiser that our MOPS group has done a few times. Super easy! I think the pumpkins are really cute. Good job Mom!

Way to go Ver...The pumpkins are really cute! And I am proud of you for doing that little project with the girls! They had fun, and each year when you pull them out, they will remember time spent with mommy.

The pizzas looked good...especially the specialty one. Yumo!

So glad to hear that the cousins baby is doing better. Did they think the hole would close up on it's own eventually? I have heard of that. Praising God along with you for answered prayers!

You look good in that color of top! It is such a pretty... and also a cheerful color don't ya think? And I like the ruffles! (:>)

Have a good week ahead Veronica. Love you! Momma
