Thoughts at midnight

Now that I have a small baby, I find myself up at all hours of the night.  It's after midnight and it's not really a shock that I'm sitting here at the computer.  Seems like times like these are the only ones I can really use to catch a little break.  I really should be getting to bed soon considering that a certain little someone will be waking me up to be fed before I know it, but for some reason here I am, typing anyway. :)

I find myself wanting to sit and get caught up on what I've missed over the holiday weekend while I tried to put the computer down and spend time with the family.  I feel bad for being so behind with blogs and stuff but it was nice just being able to take a break from the computer and relax.  We had such a fun weekend of doing pretty much nothing but hanging out and enjoying the beautiful weather that finally decided to come our way!

Alyssa had a fun time going to the movies with her Grandma S and her cousins to see Shrek 3 on Sunday.  You can totally tell from this picture who Alyssa looks like...! :)

Lately, I've been realizing just how much time I spend here on the computer.  I LOVE having a blog to be able to share what's on my mind and getting to make such sweet blog friends, but I guess I've just been having a tough time balancing everything out between handling regular life stuff and getting all caught up in blogland.  Can anyone else out there relate?

I find myself getting all wrapped up in things and before I know it, it seems I've spend a ton of time just sitting on the computer.  This is nothing new really, I guess, but just something that I've been struggling with again lately.  Over the weekend, I even had the thought of just stopping the blog so I could just get re-focused on other stuff, but I know I would be so sad if I did that.

Now that summer's here, I want to make it my goal to get out more with the girls and have some fun.  I think in the past, I've let the fact that I don't have a lot of close in real life friends to hang out with stop me from taking the girls out and just going on adventures.

I want that to change.

I don't want to keep the girls all cooped up in the house because of my insecurities.  I want them to get out more and have some fun.

These are just the thoughts that have been running through my head lately and I'm hoping that I can get things figured out so that I can continue doing what I love to do while being a good Mommy to my girls at the same time.

Well, guess I should probably get to bed for real now, but before I do that, I just had to share my new favorite picture.  I have the hardest time getting Audrey to sit still these days for pictures, so I was SO excited when we got this picture today.

Don't you just love her sweet smile?

P.S.  Sorry if this post sounds all jumbled.  I even got a nap in today but I guess staying up late will cause a person to get a little rambly! :)

I can totally relate to the blogging thing getting a little stressful at times! Hence my break several times during this past year.

I always stress when I get behind that people are going to be upset with me. I feel pressured to keep up all the time but I just have to try to realize and remember that those I've met through blogging are true strong friends that are going to be there when I'm here everyday and when I'm not. That's the wonderful thing about this-no matter what they are supportive!

Take a break if you need to or continue like you do now when you have time. Don't stress about reading other blogs if you can't just try to enjoy your time each and everyday. We'll be here when things settle down - well I won't say settle down bc we all know with kids that never happens - :)

I think spending alot of time at the computer is something we all fall into during the winter and need to make the adjustment when the summer comes :) But if the computer is even a hyndrance during the winter - then a reevaluation of time is in order! Your family should always be first, I know I have gone down from posting almost daily - to 1 or 2x a week :) And I am ok with that! I don't get around to everyone's blog regularly anymore either - but I think that's everyone's situation, right?

Spend the time outside!! Enjoy it with your 3 little beauties :)

I just love that picture! :) And I love your hair too! The color looks so pretty!

I think it's true that we spend more time on the blogs in the winter, so when summer comes we just have to adjust. I want to go on adventures too with my girls this summer. At least that will be automatic blog material. LOL!!!

Just remember.......the main reason for our blogs is not for others, but for ourselves and our girls! I just love looking back on mine and seeing that journal of all the special moments and it is a great way to document it all and much quicker than scrapbooking or writing in a paper journal.

I know on my own blog, I was thinking about this last night too, that I tended to change my focus from writing about our family, to writing for an audience, and I want to change that!

Hey sweetie, sorry I have been MIA lately, things have been busy around here with my new job, I get online from my phone often and check out your blog but it's hard to comment from my phone--I just wanted you to know I've been thinking about you and your sweet family! Hope all is well!

Love ya-Tiff

Remember one day at a time. You don't have to solve everything today or even tomorrow - it is a journey. Enjoy today! It is all that we have been given. You will sort through and figure this all out - it just takes a bit of time.

Cute picture! Glad you had a nice relaxing weekend! We did too and now I'm all sad that Ben's back to work and Evan and I are all by our lonesome! Long weekends are the best! It's just sad with they're over!

I can totally relate to the blog stuff! I spend a lot of time on the computer-not just on blogs but working with pics and stuff like that. Sometimes you just have to step back and I think we can all understand that.

I feel like I spend a whole lot of unproductive time out in blogworld. I'm actually looking forward to being at the hospital during the day this summer - I will only be able to catch up at night and I think I will actually get MORE accomplished if I focus myself in less amount of time.

Does that even make sense? I had a 'fur baby' wake me up at 4 a.m. this morning, ha!

Oh I would be SO SAD if you ended your blog too! I mean, even though I don't have kids (and won't until I'm married), I can see why it is hard for you to catch up on peoples' blogs and post on your own blog with having 3 younger girls.

What some of my blogger friends have done, is post and tell everyone that they're taking a break from blogger. They will say if they're taking a few days off, a few weeks off, or even a month off.

If you're feeling like blogging is waaaaay too much right now, and you are desperately needing a break, I would take one.

I am thinking about doing that for my own blog because of school and various other things.

You are trying to focus mainly on your kids, just like I'm trying to focus mainly on my school work (I think having 3 youngsters though, is MUCH harder than school!)

Don't feel obligated to blog if you know you really can't. We all understand! =)

Hope everything at your house is going well!

Love,
Anna Gray =)

I agree. I'm down to a few posts a month, if that. Just remember the blog is for you! And you don't have to worry about others!

I can totally relate about the blog these last few months. I haven't been able to comment as much just because we are so busy. It is hard to find that balance. You are a great mommy.
Love both the pictures of the girls.

I can relate I'm always busy. After kids go to bed is usually the best time for me. It's late sometimes but then sometimes my hubby misses me. Right now the kids are ending school and lots going on so I just jump on when I can.
Your a great Mom and your children are so beautiful.

Take care
Caroline

just keep on keeping on. i know i blogged too about not blogging as much and to not go on the computer as much. it's been working. and it's been so 'freeing'. it's sort of weird to say that, but it's so true. i always remind myself i didn't start blogging to be some sort of super star. i started blogging because i like to ramble. all the great friends i've made have become an extra bonus!! but then that's what makes me feel bad sometimes, i'm neglecting my 'friends'. oh how i can't wait til we all get to meet in heaven. i love the pictures too. hope you got a good nights rest. i also love the 'jumbled late night' post. i'm totally the same way late at night!!

I can totally relate, I feel like I am doing good in blogland for a couple days then once I am off here for a couple I feel overwhelmed with trying to catch up. It happens weekly! Just take your time, we are all right here and you better not go anywhere!!

I know what you mean about blogging time... I blog at work (shhh- don't tell) but I don't seem to have any time for blogging after work and on the weekends.... to much summer fun to be had!
