Off to a rainy start

It's an icky day here in not so sunny CA.  It's Day One of a forecasted weeks worth of rain.  I know I shouldn't even be complaing at all about the weather, but I guess I'm just already over this whole wintertime thing.  I am so ready to see the sun again and be done with all the colds that keep going and coming back!

This morning, I decided it would be a good chance to start with doing some "school" kinda stuff with Alyssa.  She's been anxious to "do school," but for some reason, I just can't seem to reach her, if you know what I mean.  Things start off good and then about 15 minutes into our lesson, she just checks out.  I really have to pray for more patience because I'm not exactly sure that being a teacher is one of my gifts.

Audrey was having a good time coloring,

While Alyssa and I practiced writing the letter, "B."

Not long after learning time, the girls were already hungry for lunch.  I warmed up some soup and it really seemed to hit the spot!

While I got to cleaning up lunch, I let the girls go watch some TV.  I was laughing hysterically when Audrey went and came back to me in the kitchen looking like this...

I had to grab my camera and take her picture!  Can you guess what she's wearing around her neck here?  If you guessed underwear...you were right!  This silly girl has been having this underwear fetish lately where she'll go into Alyssa's dresser and start pulling out all of her underwear and putting them on!  Most of the time, she just puts them on over her pants, but today, she thought she'd do something different.  Guess a girls got to stay warm somehow!

Well, it already looks as though my week's off to a great start!  It's finally naptime over here and I'm off to work on some hats!  Happy Monday!

P.S.  Just in case you were wondering...yes, I did take the underwear off of Audrey's head right after I took her picture.  It made for some good practice of counting her numbers as I counted off all six pairs of panties on her head! :)

Ha!!!!!!! Didn't you know that's what all the cool kids are wearing these days to stay warm?! Hee hee! Lily went through a phase where she wanted to wear them on her head like a hat. :0

Try to stay dry and good luck on the teaching! I don't think teaching is one of my gifts either :( The girls look so cute in their pictures!

Hahaha! V does the SAME thing - I've been tempted to take pictures of her...and now I just might have to. I'm sure she'll love me for it someday. Well, A has been acting kind of fussy off and on this afternoon and is FINALLY taking his afternoon nap (in the swing - he refused to lay in his bed), so I should probably get some rest...or maybe read my bible. Yeah, I think it's time to fill up on His word! ;) Take care - and I'll be praying for your teaching time.

That is so funny that little kids like to do those kinds of things!

Show Audrey that picture of 6 pair of underwear on her neck in a few years and she will either laugh herself silly or be embarrassed.

Alyssa looked like she was doing a good job with her letter B's. It won't be long till she is interested in school stuff.

Sorry it is so rainy...maybe they will be wrong and it won't really rain all week.

A little sunshine helps us feel so much better doesn't it?! ((smile))

They will come...hang in there sweetie.

Love, Linda

She's so cute! That reminds me of a funny underwear story when I was a teenager.

My best friends lived in a two-story house and one day their mom had some folded laundry piled at the top of the stairs. As we walked past it, we got a silly idea into our heads. We picked up her mom's underwear, opened them up and tossed them over the staircase railing causing them to parachute down. They were like these tiny little parachute's flying everywhere! It was so funny! But I don't they their mom thought it was!

Glad your week is off to a good start! Although, I must admit that I love this weather and I love the rain! hahaha! But I know what you mean about seeing the sun! Spring's right around the corner!

You're so funny! I would have left the underwear on. Oh wait, I've done it before with Bella. Kept her occupied for an hour - loved the freedom :o)

My little guy always thinks it's loads of fun to wear underwear on his head. I think he gets it from his daddy! ;)One day when the big kids were a lot smaller they did an entire underwear dance.

So sweet! Audrey is a hoot with those undies on!

How old is Alyssa? It can be hard to keep the attention of young children. Perhaps you could speak with other homeschool moms for suggestions. I'm sure she'll get into the swing of school soon!

Blessings,
Beth
