Details, now that the shock has worn off!

So today I have a confession.  Yesterday I really thought they were going to tell me I was having a boy.  I don't know why, but I had managed to convince myself that there was just no possible way, that after two girls, we would be having another one!

On the way to our appointment my Hubby and I were a bundle of nerves.  It always seems to feel like that on ultrasound days where you just never know what's going to happen.  We didn't talk much in the waiting room, and waiting even 15 minutes felt like an eternity.  When we got called back, the ultrasound tech asked us how we were doing.  I told her we were great but that what she was going to tell us was going to be huge.  She was actually the same tech that we had with both of our other girls, but it's been a while since we'd been in there to see her and she's had a ton of patients since then.  I reminded her of our history and the fact that we already have two girls.  The pressure was on.

We all giggled a little and then it was on with the jelly and the ultrasound began.  Immediately I could see our little one's sweet little body and heart beating.  That made me so happy to see that.  Really quickly I want to add in here that I don't have access to the scan function on my printer right now, so the pics I'm posting are actually pictures I took of the ultrasound pics with my camera.  If you click on the pics to enlarge them, you'll also notice I cropped out my name due to the fact that I'm paranoid about putting certain things "out there" if you know what I mean.  Anyhow...

The ultrasound tech went on to check the basics and quickly noticed that the umbilical cord was right in the middle of the baby's legs.  The thought did cross my mind the day before that maybe we wouldn't even get to find out the gender afterall.  That does happen sometimes!  Well, the tech decided to check on everything else and then come back to see if she could see the private parts area again.  She ended up trying to look from a different angle and told us, "You know, I'm looking but I just don't see (insert names for boy private parts here), so I'm really thinking this is a girl."  Then she showed us on the screen the privates area where she could see three little lines and said that it looked like she was seeing girl parts.  I asked her what percentage she was sure about it being a girl and she said 90%!

The room got a little quiet and I think the ultrasound tech was feeling a little bad for us, so she asked her assistant if there were other people waiting after us for an ultrasound.  The assistant said no, so the ultrasound tech decided to do something sweet.  She turned on the 4D part of the machine and let us see our little girl's face just for a minute on the screen in 4D!  We had never experienced that with our other girls, so seeing her precious little face made me want to cry.  Again...the picture is a little blurry, but here's a peak at our already chubby cheeked little girl.  You can see the profile of her face and see that her mouth is open.

So here we are again.  Expecting another little girl.  On the one hand, I'm relieved that it's a girl because we know exactly what to expect and we have everything we need for a girl.  On the other hand, to be perfectly honest, I'm a little sad for my Hubby.  I guess in my heart, I just wanted a boy for him to be able to have a son to do all his "man things" with, but today I'm realizing that that wasn't the plan for us.  The Lord knows it all, and He knew what was going to be best for us!  The biggest part for us since yesterday is just convincing several people in the family that it's okay that we're having another girl.  I can't tell you how many, "Oh, it's okay, you can try again's" we heard.  At the heart of it, I am just so thankful for this healthy little person growing inside of my belly!  I am so blessed!

So there you have it...I'm gonna be a Mommy to three girls, just like my mom!  Now the search is on for a name and it's off to buy those hot pink ornaments I've had my eye on this week!

P.S.  I just want to say the biggest thank you ever for your support yesterday.  It was an emotional one and reading all of your comments just made my night!

Wow!!!! That is so amazing to see her little sweet face :) I can imagine how emotional that must've been. It's always been so hard for me to really realize that it's a real baby growing in there when I've been pregnant, so to see something like that I can imagine was so amazing! I loved this post!! What a blessing this baby is going to be!!!! I can't wait....it'll be here before you know it!

Prepare yourself.....you'll have years of "are you going to try again?" and "when are you going to try for a boy?" It gets SO old after the first 100 times of being asked that, by the same people, every single time they see you! LOL!!

That is so neat about the ornaments....I bet it's going to be so pretty!!!

Love ya lots and I'm so happy for you! Are the girls super excited?

What a special story and a treat to see the 4D ultrasound. We had to pay up the you know what for that with Evan. It was so worth it though!

The guy who introduced Ben and I have three children with his wife. They were pregnant with their third when I was pregnant with Evan and they were really hoping for a boy since they already have two girls. Well of course it was a third girl. His wife's sister also had one girl and she's now pregnant with another girl. To top it, they (his wife and sister.in.law) have another sister and NO brothers. All girls in this family! haha! I guess it's in the genes!

I loved having the 3d ultrsound of stunt man...He looked just like it too. Amazing what they can do now a days. She is beautiful and you are so blessed. They will be the 3 amigos/musketeers. How fun for them. I think you should name her Addison. I love that name and it sticks with your A theme:)

Congratulations. I'm sure that once you see your baby you will just 'know' that it was meant to be.

Just saw the news on Kristin's blog so I had to stop by and congratulate you! I know what you mean about your husband. I would love a third one and I honestly wouldn't mind if it was another girl but I think my hubby would go nuts! I am glad the ultrasound went well. That was so nice of her to do the 4D u/s for y'all. Will y'all be choosing another A name? I love me some A names!

Veronica,
I just stopped by from Kristin's blog to say congratulations on your baby girl!!! Your two other girls are beautiful and I think I can tell from the great ultrasound pics that this one is too! :) Those pics are great! It is wonderful to have three girls. Now you have one more thing in common with Kristin. I have three girls too but I also have two boys. They are both equally wonderful!! I love your girls names. As I was reading their names, Abigail came to my mind, just thought I would mention that. :)
Congrats again! New life is so exciting!!!!

That was so nice of the tech to do that little extra thing for you. It's so neat to see your baby in 3D/4D. We didn't do it for Kyndra but we did for Carleigh and it was awesome!

CONGRATULATIONS! I am so happy for you. Three girls is such a blessing. God knows what beautiful girls He creates through you and your husband. He also has had BIG plans for them before they were even conceived. I am sure your girls are so excited to welcome a baby sister.
Blessings,
Amy
