Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday everybody!

First of all, I just want to give the Lord some praise for the awesome report I read on Crystal's blog last night. I'm sure all of you keep up with her story too, but I still just wanted to share a little bit about it here today, since I know it makes the Lord happy for us to brag about him and give him the glory!

I was so happy to hear that Miss Bentley made it through her open heart surgery yesterday, and that it was a complete success. I stood in awe when I read about the details of the surgery. While they were in there, they found another small tear that they hadn't even known about, and thankfully they were able to repair it. What's even bigger than that was that they were also able to save her pulmonary valve, which for many babies with her condition, is impossible. Because the doctor was able save the pulmonary valve, it will now save Bentley from having to undergo two other surgeries that were anticipated. Can I just say how awesome it was to hear such great news? Of course, now the focus is on praying for a safe and healthy recovery, but I can't help but marvel at how good God is!!!

As I've been mentioning lately, I've been feeling so sad these last couple of weeks to read so many stories of loss. Each time I hear of something new, it breaks my heart. What I've come to realize is just how small this blogging world is. It's amazing how easy it is to feel close to people you've never met "in real life."

If you read this blog often, you've heard me talk about my friend Kristin. Over the past couple of months, I have been so blessed to get to know her through this blogging adventure. Although she lives in TX and I live in CA, it has been awesome getting to know her through her blog and more recently over the phone. I don't know if I'm the only one who ever wonders what another blogger's voice sounds like, since I'm only reading their words and not hearing them in real life. Anyhow, it's been fun getting to hear her actual voice. It's so funny because now when I go to read her blog, I can literally hear her voice in my head as I read her post for the day...Southern accent and all! How funny is that? Anyhow, I just wanted to share what a blessing and a support she's been to me! I continue to be amazed at just how similar our lives are...we both have only girls, our husbands both work in Construction, we are perfectionists, and small business owners...the list goes on! Anyhow, I really just wanted to share how awesome it's been to have such a great friend! Thanks, Kristin for always being there! You have no idea just how much your friendship means to me!

Well, it's been a busy week full of hats and and other things in my life that I'm really not able to share here on this blog. Just like last week, I've been running a bit behind and sometimes I'm not sure if I'll ever catch up. But...The good news is, I am not alone. Even though I have so many things on my mind and things pulling me in a million directions, I am so thankful that the Lord is by my side. He promised me that he would never leave me or forsake me, and for that I am so THANKFUL!!!

The blogging world is so small isn't it? Such a blessing that you and Kristin have become such good friends!

On another note -
It is hard not to get consumed by all the sad/bad things that are happening around us. But then we also hear about wonderful and awesome stories such as Miss Bentley. How great is our God!!

Thank you for your prayers. It's taken me a long time to feel that urge to go back to church...I know I have to...I want to...I just have to find that one. :-)

You know, that cardigan...Isabel wears them. The problem I have is her playing with the buttons. I had to restitch the one on the pink one! That girl!

Have a beautiful evening!

I have been keeping up with Bentley also and was so relieved and happy to hear she came through surgery so well!

I find it amazing that people are so caring and supportive to those that they've never met. I never imagined finding support like this was possible before i started blogging. Great world, huh? :)

I sat in awe reading Bentley's story last night too. God is so good. It is cool to hear their voices on the phone after only reading their blogs. So cool that you have a met a blogging friend like that.
I too am so thankful for His promises. I can always count on them.
Hugs,
Mimi

Praise the Lord for Bentley and I can't wait to give her Mommy a big hug from all of us!

You are so sweet, Veronica! I was laughing about how you can hear my Southern accent when you read my blog!! LOL!! I need to post a video of myself talking, although I still maintain that I sound normal! Ha!! Seriously, I have been blessed in more ways than I could ever list for having your friendship and it makes me realize that God really will go above and beyond our expectations and bless us more than we ever dreamed possible! I am HONORED to call you my friend.

Love ya!!!
Kristin
