Short and Sweet

This will possibly be the shortest post ever. It's the beginning of the week and I'm playing catch up from the weekend. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I thought I would share some pictures from our Mother's Day weekend.

Remember how on Friday I mentioned I was going to go get my haircut? I totally planned to go short and I did. My Hubby totally loves the long hair look but, to be honest, I just didn't have the patience to keep growing it out. Cutting it shorter also helps me to stay accountable to style it and helps me to look more my age. Anyhow, here's the picture I had to take of myself since my Hubby was too mad at me for cutting it so short and wouldn't take my picture on Friday. I know that this is a shameless self portrait but whatever. I thought I would share it with all of you anyway.

And here was my Mother's Day present....Sod! Imagine my surprise when this truck rolled up on Saturday morning and came with grass for our front yard. I mentioned in the past that we have lived in this house for 17 months without a "real yard."

Here's a picture of the front of my house. I know to some people, getting grass doesn't sound like much of a Mother's Day present, but to me it was huge! I can finally walk outside with my head up and not worry what the people passing by think of the people that live on the corner (Us). Having a real lawn is a big deal to this Queen of the Castle!

On Sunday, both Audrey and my Hubby were not feeling well. Audrey was so fussy so I was relieved when she finally went down for her nap. My Hubby took this picture of me and my girl when she finally fell asleep.

Here's the card that the girls got for me. So cute and special!

Here's me and Alyssa. I had just put Audrey down and I told my Hubby I needed at least one good picture from Mother's Day even if it was with one of my girls. I really love this one!

Here's another one that my Hubby took earlier. It's pretty blurry and everyone's sort of doing their own thing, but it's something...

By the end of the day my Hubby and Audrey were feeling a little better and we were able to go out for smoothies at Jamba Juice and go for a little country ride. Nothing like spending time with the people that matter most to you! Although we didn't end up doing anything big, it was still a special day!!!

Veronica,...You are adorable!!!!
I like the new hairdo. (Hubby will get over it!) I love the pictures. Your girls are precious.

Your grass was a great gift. I was excited when I got our sod too. We have lived in our new house 2 years now, and I still remember the excitement I felt when the truck came with the sod.

Sorry your little one and your hubby weren't feeling good,..and I hope they are feeling better by now.

You and Kristin are busy business women now with your projects. I keep seeing her comments that say she has to "go to work" now. But I am so glad that you both can do your work at home and still be with your kiddos.

Blessings!
Linda

I think your hair looks really cute! I've always wanted to try Jumba juice their smoothies sound so yummy!

Is that Tropical Punch in Audrey's room? So cute! It's made by the same company that made my Paper dolls set. Are you going to be participating in the tour of homes on Kelly's blog this week? I love seeing nurseries. I get alot of good ideas that way.

Oh, these pictures are just BEAUTIFUL, Veronica! I do love the hair cut! And I think sod is the best gift in the world!!! I need sod in my back yard so badly--we have some grass, but there's a lot of dirt and my kids just get absolutely filthy every day....uggghhh. Your hubby is so sweet to take those pictures of you and your girls! I ask my hubby to but he always forgets! Gotta love 'em! : )

That is the best Mother's Day present. I'm in agreement. The neighbors think it is absolutely beautiful. I would love grass for my birthday coming up but I think I'm getting a UV Filter for the pond, which was on my list also so I can't complain! Love the grass and the pics with the girls and the new fabulous hair!

Veronica, I will be praying for you! I've been getting overwhelmed lately with everything I need to do and I've been having a hard time--I just needed to sit at the feet of my Jesus today. I needed to draw my strength from him and praise him b/c there are days I just can't make it through without him.

I pray you are strengthened by His mighty Spirit that is at work within you!

Sod, that is GREAT! I do understand the importance of 'little' things to some, but BIG to us! LOL Your yard looks beautiful, like a 'queens' court!
